Robert J. Shelley, 61, formerly of Crawfordsville, died Monday night at his home in Pittsboro. He was employed in the sales department at the Sears’ Store in the Lafayette Square Mall at Indianapolis. He was born April 22, 1915, to William T. and Mary Forrest Shelley of Crawfordsville. He was married to Gladys Naomi Bear of Indianapolis. She preceded him in death in April of 1975. Survivors are four daughters; a son, Bobby of Indianapolis; a brother, O. E. of New Ross; two sisters, Mrs. Mary B. Krodel of Indianapolis and Mrs. Jessie M. Boze of Crawfordsville; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Weaver Mortuary at Brownsburg with the Rev. David Wigington officiating. Burial will be in Brownsburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 4-9 p.m. today. – jlr
